(n.) the tendency to not start anything until you've had a cup of coffee
In a van, in a barn, on a farm in deepest Hertfordshire is an Italian coffee machine that pumps out the best espresso in the County, a kitchen that bakes and toasts, and a Belgian beer list that reads like a Tour of Flanders start sheet. Inside watching live racing, or outside watching farting goats.
Our attention to detail on the bike is reproduced in our approach to coffee. We select the freshest Arabica beans from our supplier Campervan Coffee Co then grind and extract them to perfection. And we do the same whether the bean is caffeined up or not. In fact many tell us they cannot tell the difference between our regular and decaf.
And when you’ve got your coffee or beer you can sit on one of the sun terraces (365 days of sunshine here: Hertfordshire's best kept secret!) or cosy up on a chesterfield next to the wood burner. On a club run? Our innovative Book-a-Booth group seating technology™ allows you and your pals to reserve a grown up table and not be spread out like Billy No-Mates (as ever, T&Cs apply).
At Spoke we live and breathe coffee as much as we do bikes. To us it is the ambrosia of the peloton. Our iconic 1964 Citroen H van with its corrugated sides will be familiar to cycling fans as the broom wagon from Le Tour de France. But rather than offering anyone who has climbed off an ignominious lift to the finish, ours produces arguably the best coffee in the County, as well as delicious homemade cakes and made-to-order toasties. And beer too.
